Tail Cone Master Tooling for Composite Parts

This multi part split tool was created as a male plug from which high temperature composite molds were made. Two additional tools were required to complete the production of one unit. The other tools were machined from epoxy tooling board and aluminum. 

The complex form and undercuts were created using a multi axis cut, assembling machined components, tool inserts and splitting a composite mold to provide production parts. Additionally the 4th axis on our CNC Mill was used to route in a perfect female receiver for the pods and hatch assemblies.
